Silt Fence

Armtec’s pre-assembled silt fence structures address environmental erosion problems during site development and construction by controlling and filtering silt laden run-off.

The silt fence fabric screens a large percentage of the silt and sand particles suspended in the surface flow, creating an increasingly effective soil filter on the upstream side of the fence. This process slows the flow and impounds run-off behind the silt fence. The significantly reduced flow velocities promote the settlement of suspended solids behind the silt fence structure.

Armtec silt fences are manufactured from ultra-violet stabilized, woven polypropylene fibres, specifically designed with the optimum opening size to provide both soil filtration and water retention.
