In 1990, Armtec introduced Ultra Flo storm sewer pipe to Canada, a superior drainage and conduit product. Ultra Flo combines the traditional advantages of corrugated metal pipe and a superior hydraulic flow capacity. Ultra Flo spiral rib pipe is an innovative, flexible metal pipe, which has been proven as a highly reliable product in thousands of installations. Ultra Flo is available in Galvanized or Aluminized Steel Type 2.
Features and benefits:
Efficient hydraulics – Ultra Flo is produced by a continuous spiral seam method. Stiffness is provided by external box-shaped ribs. The rib is a continous spiral, which produces a hydraulically smooth inside wall.
Proven strength – Ultra Flo has the same strength advantages as corrugated metal pipe
Various protective coatings available depending on installation conditions
Economical installation due to light weight and smaller outside diameter
Armtec Hel-Cor pipe manufactured from Aluminized Steel Type 2 offers the corrosion resistance and surface characteristics of aluminum with the strength, durability and economy of Armtec corrugated steel pipe. The product is fabricated from steel coils which have been hot-dip coated in a bath of commercially pure aluminum. The coating has uniform thickness on both sides of the sheet, with a strong metallurgical bond between metals.

The treatment of storm water runoff is essential to Canada’s environment. With increased development and reduced absorbent surfaces available in urban areas peak surface flows are higher than before development, and occur much earlier in the storm. With high surface runoff comes high contaminant and suspended solids content. Storm water must therefore be managed on two fronts: volume created by early peak runoff must be contained and released in a controlled fashion. Storm water runoff must be treated to remove contaminants before it reaches natural watercourses.
Armtec manufactures storm water detention and recharge systems using both corrugated steel pipe and high density corrugated polyethylene pipe. Storm water detention systems are custom-designed to suit any site plan. The diameter, size and configuration of the underground pipe storage system is designed to optimize storage taking into account such factors as available land area, depth of burial, storage required and discharge or recharge rate required. Steel systems are available in galvanized, aluminized or polymer-laminated steel.
Armtec supplies storm water quality products in cooperation with CONTECH Stormwater Solutions Inc. A full range of filtration, hydrodynamic separation, screening, oil/water separation and flow control technology is available. Systems are designed to meet site specific flow, removal efficiency and target particle size requirements.
