Hel-Cor Lock Seam Corrugated Steel Pipe
Corrugated Steel Pipe Institute
Armtec Hel-Cor Lock Seam Corrugated Steel PipeArmtec first introduced Hel-Cor pipe to the construction industry in 1934. Since then, Hel-Cor has proven its effectiveness and durability in countless installations under diverse conditions. The inherent strength of these helically-corrugated, light-weight steel sections, in conjunction with the diversity of sizes, couplings, fittings and finishes, combine to make Hel-Cor one of the most versatile, cost-effective systems for many applications.
Reusable - Recycleable - Remarkable
Features and Benefits:
  • Flexibility and high compressive strength – The helical corrugations and continuous lock-seam provide high compressive strength in a light-weight, thin-walled structure.
  • Economy of installation – Depending upon the installation, cost savings in excess of 25% over other systems are not uncommon, due to light weight of pipe sections.
  • Versatility – Choices of 2 shapes, 2 corrugations, 5 wall thicknesses, five factory-applied finishes and a variety of couplings, fittings and end-treatments
  • Reduced leakage – long lengths reduce opportunities for leakage

Stormwater Solutions

Armtec is a Canadian distributor for CONTECH Stormwater Solutions. Products offered in Canada by Armtec include: Vortechs and VortSentry hydrodynamic separators, StormFilter, VortClarex and Hydrobrake. These products provide: filtration, hydrodynamic separation, screening systems and oil/water separation solutions.

The treatment of storm water runoff is essential to Canada’s environment. With increased development and reduced absorbent surfaces available in urban areas peak surface flows are higher than before development, and occur much earlier in the storm. With high surface runoff comes high contaminant and suspended solids content. Storm water must therefore be managed on two fronts: volume created by early peak runoff must be contained and released in a controlled fashion. Storm water runoff must be treated to remove contaminants before it reaches natural watercourses.

Armtec manufactures storm water detention and recharge systems using both corrugated steel pipe and high density corrugated polyethylene pipe. Storm water detention systems are custom-designed to suit any site plan. The diameter, size and configuration of the underground pipe storage system is designed to optimize storage taking into account such factors as available land area, depth of burial, storage required and discharge or recharge rate required. Steel systems are available in galvanized, aluminized or polymer-laminated steel.

Armtec supplies storm water quality products in cooperation with CONTECH Stormwater Solutions Inc. A full range of filtration, hydrodynamic separation, screening, oil/water separation and flow control technology is available. Systems are designed to meet site specific flow, removal efficiency and target particle size requirements.
